THIS is the reason that I wanted to learn how to use my big ol’ fancy camera. I had a baby almost 4 years ago, and life started speeding up. A lot. Leo was growing up before my very eyes. He was just so incredibly beautiful, I wanted to record every little feature – his flawless skin, his big blue eyes, his every expression in every light. So my wonderful husband bought me a fancy camera for Christmas that year (a Nikon D90 with a kit lens). I didn’t have any idea what DSLR meant, or what all those giant buttons did. But I really wanted to learn. And so I did. And this is why. (I know it’s not a terribly original story, but it’s a true one.)
Fast forward a few years….. Max was still asleep when I went in his room this morning. I’ve been dying to get some images the way he sleeps: left thumb in his mouth, snuggling a lovie in his right hand, crazy long eyelashes resting on his cheeks. Little angel. (Photography note: It was actually pretty dark, and I had to crank up my IS0 to about 6400 and slow down my shutter speed to about 1/30 for these shots. At f/1.4. So they’re not the crispiest, but I couldn’t care less.)
Thanks for sleeping a few extra minutes so Mommy could take your pictures, Max-o. Love you.
