picking blueberries at blueberry hill farms

07.14.2013

On the way back to Dallas last weekend, we stopped at Blueberry Hill Farms so our city kids could see a “real farm” and pick their own blueberries. It was insanely hot, as it typically is in July in Texas at 1pm, and therefore a bit trying on our patience at times. But all in all, it was a lot of fun, and I’m glad we took the chance to add that experience to the weekend.

We tried a few different blueberry jams, as is evident on Max’s face.  We picked our own blueberries (translation: Steven and the boys picked blueberries; I took photos).  And, we scored some fresh blueberry lemonade for the road to Plano, TX.

That blueberry lemonade would work well with vodka. Maybe next time.
