{"id":3304,"date":"2012-06-08T06:30:47","date_gmt":"2012-06-08T12:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zoedphotography.com\/blog\/?p=3304"},"modified":"2013-02-27T11:14:33","modified_gmt":"2013-02-27T17:14:33","slug":"hmmm-contemplating-a-daily-photo-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zoedphotography.com\/blog\/hmmm-contemplating-a-daily-photo-project\/","title":{"rendered":"hmmm | contemplating a daily photo project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;m contemplating making an attempt at the &#8220;daily photo&#8221; thing&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>I absolutely believe that the best way to improve is to practice, practice, practice.\u00a0 And\u00a0at the same time, I&#8217;ve become lazy about taking &#8220;real&#8221; photos of my own kids, around the house, etc.\u00a0 Instead, I just use my iPhone to capture the moment, and share it through <a title=\"ZoeD on Instagram\" href=\"http:\/\/web.stagram.com\/n\/zoed\/\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>\/Facebook\/ Twitter\/email for immediate gratification.\u00a0 And I love doing that.\u00a0 But I love the real deal even more.<\/p>\n<p><em>So why the heck am I leaving my camera in my office between client photo sessions?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Case in point:<\/p>\n<p>The other day, I took a few shots on my iPhone of my boys being silly and pressing their faces on the shower door, because it made me smile.\u00a0 I even shared it with grandparents and it made them smile too.\u00a0 I love that.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Shower door shenanigans. :) by zoedennis, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/web.stagram.com\/p\/206672479972217539_286523\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7221\/7339681330_7b16885e92_o.jpg\" alt=\"Shower door shenanigans. :)\" width=\"612\" height=\"612\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then last night, they were doing the same thing, and a light bulb went off in my head.\u00a0 <em>What if I actually took a quality photo, with my REAL camera?\u00a0 Wouldn&#8217;t that be something?<\/em> \u00a0(Duh!)<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.zoedphotography.com by zoedennis, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/zoedennis\/7349228166\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7089\/7349228166_265f7e6a12_o.jpg\" alt=\"http:\/\/www.zoedphotography.com\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" \/><\/a>50mm f\/1.4G | ISO 3200 | f\/1.4 | 1\/160 sec<\/p>\n<p>They weren&#8217;t hamming it up quite as well this time, but I do really love this single image (and a couple of others).  And I&#8217;m OK with having just one.  I&#8217;m more than OK with that.  Because what if I had just one image from every day of the year?  How cool would it be to make a 2012 album at the end of the year with good, personal photos?  As if there were a real-deal professional Photographer living with our family.  (Wait &#8211; there IS!)  Not to mention that all that practice would help me improve on my craft that much more, right?<\/p>\n<p>So what do you think? Have you ever tried a photo-a-day project? How did it go? Any tips, especially in the way of getting them uploaded\/edited\/shared in a timely manner?
